More May Mayhem!

11 April 2008

It will be more Mayhem during May at The Clay Studio. A series of events will provide fun for all the family, for painters and non-painters. There will also be special themed events to tie in with the Christchurch Food & Wine Festival from 9 to 18 May 2008. There will be something for everyone.

As part of the Christchurch Food & Wine Festival visitors will learn that The Clay Studio not only provides high quality food and beverages but is also an excellent place to learn about nutrition and healthy eating. We will be running Sunpower Kidz workshops on 10-11 and 17-18 May at 10am. Running for two hours, each workshop will teach children the importance of different fruit and vegetables in their diet while they paint a fruit or vegetable character. Also running during the Food & Wine Festival will be a Paint-a-Healthy-Plate competition. Any children painting plates with a healthy eating theme will be eligible to enter the competition with excellent pries available.

Pottery painting is an ideal activity for all the family. For this reason we are repeating our Family Fun Day which was so popular last year. Saturday 24 May is the day to keep free. There will be a special Studio Fee for a family of four as well as face painting, chocolate fountain and a free-to-enter raffle.

From the beginning of May until Friday 23 May we will be repeating Coffee & Coasters. For those who have never tried pottery painting before we invite you to paint a drinks coaster while you have a coffee. At just £5 for the coffee and a glazed & fired coaster this is outstanding value. Our trained staff will be on hand to provide any help, advice and encouragement. You will learn just how easy it is to produce something special without the need for any artistic skills. The glazed and fired coasters will be ready for collection within a couple of days. Relax in the comfortable surroundings of The Clay Studio and discover the artist in you.

We will be launching our new Spring Collection Painting Academy course at the beginning of May. A new set of projects, often with a spring or summer theme, will showcase different pottery painting techniques. Sign up for a series of six projects and astound your friends and family with the pieces that you create.

The Clay Studio is a contemporary pottery painting studio, offering visitors the opportunity to paint their own pottery and learn different painting and decorative effects through the Painting Academy and by having trained staff always on-hand. Alongside the painting is The Clay Studio Café which offers snacks and beverages, sourced, wherever possible, from local Dorset and Hampshire producers.
