Success Takes The Clay Studio to New Premises

13 November 2012

The success of The Clay Studio means that the innovative Christchurch business is moving to new premises after almost six years in Castle Street. The Clay Studio will reopen at its new location in the High Street adjacent to the Fountain Roundabout on Saturday 17 November providing the same pottery painting fun but in improved premises.

The Clay Studio offers a great place to relax and paint pottery or simply have a coffee. The pottery is glazed and fired and normally available for collection after four days. The Clay Studio has become increasingly popular with families, hen parties, birthday parties, those looking to create unique or personalised gifts or simply an opportunity to enjoy some “me-time”. The First Impressions service is very popular as a way to capture a baby or toddler’s early years through hand and foot prints. More recently The Clay Studio has become an effective and unusual corporate training event venue – “teambuilding without getting wet”.

Alongside the pottery painting The Clay Studio Café offers superb Verde coffee, Twining teas and an interesting menu for freshly-prepared snacks and light lunches.

The Clay Studio will be opening seven days a week from 17 November. This includes late-night opening on Thursdays. Booking is not normally necessary for painting although The Clay Studio does recommend booking for groups of six or more. Booking is also preferred for First Impressions baby clay imprints or plaster outprints.

The Fountain is located close to town centre car parks, bus stops (Yellow Buses and Wilts & Dorset) and is just a short walk from Christchurch railway station. The Clay Studio also has limited free parking available for customers at The Clay Studio.

Mary Payne, Managing Director of The Clay Studio, is upbeat about the move:

“This is an exciting move for The Clay Studio. We have excellent staff and we are very proud of what we have achieved over the last six years. Our new premises will enable us to continue this, launch new painting courses and develop some new ideas. We look forward to welcoming our regular customers and inspiring some new people.”

The Clay Studio is a contemporary pottery painting studio. We have a wide range of blank pottery pieces for painting which are normally fired and ready for collection within four days. The Clay Studio is ideal for parties such as hen parties, birthday parties or just the opportunity to get together and relax with friends and family. The Clay Studio is a café with a varied menu that is locally sourced wherever possible.
