New Workshop Teaches Pottery Painting Techniques to Create Stunning Bowl Design

20 April 2016

There are many different painting techniques for pottery, most of which are really simple and easy to learn. Our next Painting Academy Workshop teaches three techniques to create a stunning bowl that will astound your friends and family.

Pottery painting is not only great fun and very relaxing but it also allows you to learn simple skills to create a range of pieces that are unique. This large bowl uses banding and colour wash as well as a choice of silk screen stencils. The Workshop is suitable for beginners to advanced painters and no previous experience is necessary.

The Workshop takes place on Thursday 19 May from 7-9pm at The Clay Studio in Christchurch. The cost is just £25 per person to include Studio Fee, bisque pottery, use of paints, silk screens, painting equipment, glazing & firing and all tuition. There is 10% discount for Clay Friends members.

Martin Payne, Marketing Director of The Clay Studio, noted the role of Workshops:

“There are many different pottery painting techniques. Knowledge of some different techniques will make painting pottery even more rewarding as this will provide a range of possibilities to achieve different and innovative effects. The Workshops are great fun too.”

The Clay Studio is a contemporary pottery painting studio. We have a wide range of blank pottery pieces for painting which are fired and usually ready for collection within four days. The Clay Studio is ideal for parties such as hen parties, birthday parties or just the opportunity to get together and relax with friends and family. The Clay Studio is a licensed café with a varied menu that is locally sourced wherever possible.
