It's Girls' Night Out Every Thursday

23 January 2015

When life is busy and stressful it is important to have some me-time and the chance to relax. The Clay Studio in the centre of Christchurch offers a perfect place to have time to yourself or with friends. Every Thursday evening has been designated Girls’ Night Out so you can come along after work or a day looking after children and relax by painting pottery. We are open until 10pm with our café menu available until 9pm. We are also licensed so you can enjoy a glass of wine or local beer or cider while you are painting.

The Clay Studio has a choice of around 300 different bisque items to paint as well as a wide range of paints, crystal glazes and other specialist resources. Artistic skills are not necessary just enthusiasm and patience. Our staff are on hand to help you achieve your best results. What’s more, you can take all the time you require and you do not have to pay another fee to return and finish off your piece. We have our own free private parking adjacent to The Clay Studio to make life easier. Once a month we run Painting Academy Workshops on the Thursday evening for those who wish to develop new skills and techniques.

Mary Payne, Managing Director of The Clay Studio, noted the importance of Thursday evenings:

“Pottery painting is an ideal way to relax, especially after a busy day at work or looking after children. Thursday evenings have become very popular with many coming along every week to paint and chill out. Many of our regulars started as complete beginners and have since become quite accomplished painters by learning a little bit each week”

The Clay Studio is a contemporary pottery painting studio. We have a wide range of blank pottery pieces for painting which are fired and usually ready for collection within four days. The Clay Studio is ideal for parties such as hen parties, birthday parties or just the opportunity to get together and relax with friends and family. The Clay Studio is a licensed café with a varied menu that is locally sourced wherever possible.
