The Clay Studio Opens Late for Christchurch Christmas Market

28 November 2012

With Christchurch Christmas Market on Saturday 1 December The Clay Studio will stay open until 7.30 to allow extra time to paint those unique presents or decorations for Christmas.

December is always a busy time at The Clay Studio with hand-painted pottery ideally suited to Christmas decorations as well as unique, personal gifts. With our new premises at The Fountain now operating as normal we have a wide range of Christmas pottery such as baubles, Christmas figures and even more unusual items such as the “pile of snowmen”. Some of our best Christmas designs have even been on standard plates and mugs and so there is no shortage of opportunities to paint something that is special.

It is possible to paint right up to 22 December to have items glazed and fired for collection by 24 December although The Clay Studio recommends not leaving painting to the last minute. The last date for First Impressions clay imprints or plaster outprints are 3 December and 10 December respectively as more work is involved in completing them.

Mary Payne, Managing Director of The Clay Studio, notes the creativity of customers at The Clay Studio:

“We are always able to help our customers develop ideas to make their pieces special. We are always surprised by some of the wonderful pieces that are painted especially those that make use of babies’ hand or footprints as part of the design. The handprint reindeer plate is always a popular choice.”

With a beach-themed party room seating around 30 alongside our normal tables The Clay Studio is also ideal for Christmas parties. In the past we have hosted office painting parties as well as family painting parties prior to Christmas.

The Clay Studio is a contemporary pottery painting studio. We have a wide range of blank pottery pieces for painting which are normally fired and ready for collection within four days. The Clay Studio is ideal for parties such as hen parties, birthday parties or just the opportunity to get together and relax with friends and family. The Clay Studio is a café with a varied menu that is locally sourced wherever possible.
